*SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1896 KRAG RIFLE. Cal. 30-40. Standard rifle with 30″ round bbl, ski-jump rear sight, 1-pc stock with sharp 1899 cartouche and short handguard. Accompanied by an original brown leather sling with brass buckle. SN 199166. CONDITION: Good. Bbl retains about 90% strong bright original blue. Receiver and sideplate are mostly a silver mottled patina with finish in the sheltered areas. Magazine box retains 75% original finish. Strong bright bore, dirty and needs cleaning. Wood is sound and retains most of its original dirty finish. Sling is fine and supple. 4-47260 JR471 (200-400)
