VERY FINE 6-BORE JAMES LEES, SCOTTISH SIDE BY SIDE WATERFOWLER.

SN NSN. Cal. 6ga. This is a beautiful 15-1/2 pound monster which retains most of its orig striped brown finish on 37″ bbls and bright case color to breech, locks and hammers. Mechanically gun is excellent with bright shiny like new bores. Locks and bbl maker marked with “JAMES LEES PERTH”. James Lees listed as gunsmith in the 1850’s in Perthshire, Scotland, later with his sons. CONDITION: Fine to very fine overall. Bbl retains most of its orig brown striping, thinning near breech. Locks have bright case colors, less on floorplate, hammers and breech. Buttplate retains 80% of its org fire blue and trigger guard retains strong traces of blue blending to a plum patina. Stock is sound with good checkering, oil finished. Well fit with scattered cosmetic blemishes and a small inset toe repair.
