SN 56858/31756. 1) Cal. 44. 8″ bbl. Blue and case colored finish. 3-screw frame cut for stock. 1-pc ivory grip. Markings are standard for this model. SN matches on bbl, frame, trigger guard, backstrap, wedge and cylinder. Arbor is unnumbered. “IP” is stamped under SN. Grips were not removed. Civilian issued. 2) Cal. 44. 8″ bbl. Blue and case colored finish. 4-screw frame cut for stock. 1-pc walnut grip. Markings are standard for this model. SN match on bbl, frame, trigger guard, backstrap, wedge, arbor, and cylinder. Grips were not removed. Small inspector’s initial overall. No visible cartouche on grips. Military issue. PROVENANCE: The Dr. Robert G. Cox Estate Collection. Revolver is a gray-brown patina overall with clear markings are traces of cylinder scene. “Certifiable antique elephant ivory” grip is very good with no missing chips and a nice mellow patina. 2) Good. Grips are good but have been cleaned and are slightly undersized. 2 small chips missing from toe on each side.
