EARLY 3RD MODEL COLT MODEL 1851 PERCUSSION NAVY REVOLVER.

SN 4136. Cal. 36. This Navy revolver made in 1851 must be one of earliest 3rd models known as there are 2nd models with the square back trigger guard within this same serial range. Fine example with great aesthetics being 100% original and authentic. PROVENANCE: The Estate of G. W. “Bill” Stewart of Sonora, Texas. CONDITION: Very good overall, crisp markings, all matching SNs including wedge, arbor and grips. Metal is gray overall with scattered small blemishes and light pitting. Cylinder retains about 90% of its crisp rolled Naval battle scene, 5 of 6 safety pins are still functional. Grips are sound and well fit retaining about 90% of original varnish finish with edge wear. Trigger guard and backstrap retain strong traces of original silver plating with balance a yellow mustard patina. 49973-492 JS (1,500-2,500) – Lot 1212
