WINCHESTER MODEL 1885 STANDARD GRADE RIFLE WITH CASE COLORED RECEIVER AND SET TRIGGER.

SN 45001. Cal.44 WCF. 30″ # 1 size oct bbl. This rifle has a thin blade front sight and Buckhorn rear sight and sports a single set trigger. Mounted with straight grained American walnut stocks and a crescent buttplate. PROVENANCE: The Timothy Scott Collection. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains 60% orig blue with high point wear and a few scratches. Bbl marking is clear and sharp. Bore is very good with sharp rifling and some slight erosion at throat. Receiver is smooth silver-gray finish overall with some slight traces of case color in protected area. Hammer and lever are a smooth gray patina with some slight traces of case color on lever. Stocks are very good and full-sized with numerous handling marks and a few dents and bruises, especially on right side of comb. Steel buttplate is a gray patina with some dark staining. This is a very nice Winchester high wall rifle in a very desirable cal. 50071-25 TEP (1,500-2,000) – Lot 1144
