HANDEL EXOTIC BIRD TABLE LAMP.

Handel table lamp has dome shade with reverse painted decoration of a brightly colored exotic bird perched on a plant between 2 colored flowers. Bird decoration appears on front and back of shade with vertical bands of colored flowers and black leaves adorning the sides. All set against a pale green background. Signed on the inside edge “Handel 7010” and artists initials “DJM”. Shade rests on an original Handel base with vertically ribbed stem and riser, 3 socket cluster and fleur-de-lis cap. Base is unsigned. Lamp is pictured in the book The Handel Lamps Book by Hibel, Hibel & Fontaine, pg. 148 in an advertisement for House Beautiful, June 1923. SIZE: Shade 16″ dia. Lamp 23″ t.
