PAIR OF BOXED GERMAN TIN LOCOMOTIVES.

Of unknown manufacture, the first is referred to as the Rangir-Locomotive and depicts a lithographed train locomotive in very fine to near mint original condition with its original box (cardboard sides slightly crushed). The second toy, which is somewhat unusual, is a 240 American Outline locomotive but of German manufacture. Obviously this particular toy was produced with the American market in mind as the cow catcher on the front slips right off. More than likely this toy was intended for European use, but as the American market was far larger, the manufacturer added the cow catcher for appeal. Both locomotives have windup mechanisms which are in functional operational condition. SIZE: Approx 7″ and 10-1/2″ respectively. PROVENANCE: The Estate of Carol and Jerry Soling. CONDITION: Paper label on second locomotive has had significant loss, however most of the engine picture is still intact. This particular toy has years of “shelf dust” and would benefit by a light cleaning. Overall condition of this toy is very good plus. 1-14611 (250-350) – Lot 1123
