GERMAN MILITARY FIGURE ASTRIDE HORSEBACK WINDUP BY B&S.

An interesting toy, most likely from the 1930s-early 1940s era by B&S (attributed to Blomer & Schuler). The military figure emblazoned with the swastika armband as well as swastikas on his saddle is riding astride a horse in parade outfit carrying the Nazi flag. A finely lithographed toy, the horse being a dapple finish. Toy is marked “B&S” with the elephant trademark directly under rider’s left foot. The litho is in outstanding, vibrant wonderful condition with minimum minor wear at arm area and rear of seated figure. An interesting and rare toy that is seldom seen and obviously not necessarily appealing to most toy collectors. SIZE: Overall: 5-1/4″ l. PROVENANCE: The Estate of Carol and Jerry Soling.
