FRENCH TANTALUS SET.

French Tantalus set consists of 4 crystal decanters and 13 crystal cordials. Each piece is decorated with a gilt leaf design and each decanter is complete with original hollow blown stopper. Decanters and cordials are housed in a brass or bronze frame with center handle and glass bottom. Frame and crystal are further housed with in a brass or bronze box with glass top and sides and acanthus leaf feet. Glass panels are etched around the border with a matching leaf design. Unsigned. SIZE: Decanters 8″ t to top of stopper. Cordials 3″ t. Tantalus case 13″ w x 10-5/8″ d x 11-1/4″ t. PROVENANCE: Dean & Kate Armstrong Collection. CONDITION: Very good, 1 cordial has roughness to the edge of foot from a flaw in the making, 3 cordials have a slightly different shape than the others, set is missing 1 cordial. 49719-17 (1,000-2,000) – Lot 1087
