GALLE ENAMELED COVERED BOX.

Early Galle box has square glass cover with deep red shading to clear on the sides. The cover is heavily enameled with colorful flowers in red, green, white, yellow and orange. The cover also has foil inclusions and is finished with a metal trim on the bottom edge, the sides of the lid have a cameo carved floral band with enameled floral highlights. The bottom section of the box is square clear glass with random enameled flowers on the sides and is housed in a metal stand with four ball feet and floral design. Box is signed on the lid “Galle”. The metal on the box appears to be silver plate with remnants of a gold wash. SIZE: 4-1/2″ sq. PROVENANCE: From a prominent Midwest collection.
