*WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 OCTAGON BARREL FULL MAGAZINE SPORTING RIFLE WITH CRESCENT BUTT.

SN 125930. Cal. 38-56 WCF. 26″ bbl. Blue finish. Straight grained American walnut stocks with crescent butt. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl and magazine tube retain 80% dull blue finish with some marring and scratching on top of barrel and some muzzle wear. Markings are sharp. Sights are very good. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Receiver retains 20-30% finish drifting into a pleasing plum patina. Some scratching on both sides of receiver. Bolt retains 50% blue. Hammer and lever are a silver-gray patina with traces of case color in protected areas. Stocks are very good and full-sized. Varnished stocks show numerous mars and dents especially on left side of forestock. A nice 86 rifle is a desirable caliber. 49971-36 TEP C&R (2,500-3,500) – Lot 1071
