LEHMANN ANXIOUS BRIDE.

A classic as well as an intrinsically charming toy featuring the Lehmann rad cycle pulling a carriage with a well-dressed lady seated within. Dubbed “The Anxious Bride” the gentleman driver proceeds forward twisting & turning while the seated lady bobs her head & arms flutter about on their way to the church. Toy is in very fine plus all-original condition including the tissue the lady holds & her ermine stole. Both parts of this toy not only match in condition but coloring as well as oftentimes over the years various pieces are “married” together. Toy is slightly dusty from sitting on a shelf, and just a very light cleaning would bring out the lustre of the fine lithography. Virtually little or no wear to the white wheels from having run on the floor. A remarkable example in really great original condition! SIZE: Overall approx 9″ l. PROVENANCE: The Estate of Carol and Jerry Soling. CONDITION: Anywhere is most noticeable where the back would connect to the front with a bit of minor chipping where back end would turn & rub against front. Not overly noticeable, just want to mention minor wear. An original tin trunk of Hornby manufacture has been added & set at the lady’s feet. 1-14774 (1,000-1,500) – Lot 1052
