RARE WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 OCTAGON BARREL FULL MAGAZINE RIFLE WITH 32″ BARREL.

SN 354732B. Cal. 32 WCF. 32″ oct bbl. Full magazine. Magazine has 2 hangers which is correct for this model. Standard sights. Standard markings for this model. Receiver has standard tang markings on upper and lower tang. Elevator is marked 32 cal. Straight grained American walnut stocks with crescent butt. PROVENANCE: The Estate of G. W. “Bill” Stewart of Sonora, Texas. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl and magazine tube are a plum-brown patina overall with high point wear and some roughness toward muzzle. Markings are clear. Bore is dark with only traces of rifling. Receiver is a plum-brown patina overall with high point wear and traces of orig blue in protected areas around side plates. Elevator is a deep mustard brown patina with clear cal. mark. Tang markings are clear but somewhat washed out. Hammer and lever area pleasing plum-brown patina. Stocks are very good and are slightly undersized. Stocks show handling marks and dents overall with a few small cracks at the end of tang. There is a slight gap on either side of tang by receiver. Buttplate and forend cap are also a deep brown patina. A rare model 1873 rifle with a 32″ bbl that is not often encountered. 49973-5 TEP (1,200-3,200) – Lot 1045
