TWO MOSER DECORATED VASES.

1) Moser aqua-blue vase has all over Persian influenced decoration with brightly enameled stylized flowers with gold vines and green enameled leaves. A bumblebee flies amongst the flowers and a large ant climbs on the vine. Vase is finished with a drip or lava-flow collar. The collar is gilded and further decorated with enameled insects. 2) Similar Persian influenced decoration has brightly colored stylized flowers with gold vines and green enameled leaves with enameled insects flying and walking among the vines. The vase has a somewhat freeform gilded lip with teardrops descending down the side of the vase. The gilded rim is further decorated with various enameled insects. Both vases are pictured in the book Moser Glass: The Klabin Collection by Gary D. Baldwin, pg. 105, plate 133. SIZE: 5″ t and 5-3/4″ t respectively. PROVENANCE: George Klabin Collection. CONDITION: Vase #1 is missing the end of one dripping and has some wear to gilding. Vase #2 has wear to gilding on rim and on teardrops. 5-67346 (600-800) – Lot 1029
