TOWER BANK, CASTLE BANK, AND COLUMBIA TOWER STILL BANKS.

The Tower bank and Castle bank, both manufactured by Kyser & Rex, are overall typical of this company’s work. Elaborate and intricately cast buildings that were emulated in miniature form. The Tower bank itself has a japanned finish with gold & copper highlighting and a red combination door with matching red roof. The Castle bank has a factory flaw lacking one point on tower top and a small chip at center roof alignment, more than likely occurring when a child replaced the pin holding the bank together. Japanned finish is intact and original. The third bank, manufactured by Columbia Grey Iron with embossed lettering on the top Columbia “Tower”. Bank was originally nickel plated which has darkened with age and possibly a good cleaning might bring out some of the original finish. Bank retains its original twist pin. SIZE: Approx 7″ t, 3″ t, and 7″ t respectively. PROVENANCE: The Estate of Carol and Jerry Soling. CONDITION: Overall good to very good. 1-14656-1, 1-14659, 1-14660-1 (850-1,250) – Lot 1028
