MONUMENTAL DAUM CAMEO AND ENAMELED VASE.

Monumental Daum vase has cameo violets surrounding the side of the vase with cameo leaves and stems rising from the foot, all against a mottled blue shading to white background. The leaves are enameled in shades of green with gilded highlights while the violets are enameled in shades of purple with red and white stamen. The bulbous foot of the base has a stylized cameo decoration with a stippled gilded band encircling the foot. Encircling the bottom of the base is a band of alternating gilded panels one with cameo lily pad and flowers, the other with a large cameo locust. Signed on the underside with etched signature “Daum Nancy” with the cross of Lorraine. SIZE: 22″ t. PROVENANCE: From a prominent Midwest collection.
