CUPOLA BANK BY J. & E. STEVENS.

Occasionally, a painted still bank stands out as being extra special, either due to the paint work, coloring, provenance, or some other feature. This particular version of the cupola bank has a phenomenal painted front with an abundance of mica added to the front facade. Its elaborately stenciled roof further adds to the appeal of this still bank. Perhaps the final feature of interest is the notation of the rear of the bank written in script “From Aunt Na___ie September 1869”. SIZE: Approx 5-1/2″ t. PROVENANCE: The Estate of Carol and Jerry Soling. CONDITION: Overall very fine plus. For some unknown reason, it appears the lower part of the cupola where it connects to roof has solder marks at front and rear???. Bank has not been taken apart to inspect or determine why this has occurred. 1-14663 (850-1,250) – Lot 1014
