Outstanding results were achieved in all areas highlighted by a set of 17 silk trade banners fetching $125,350 and being purchased by a consortium of Maine Institutions and Organizations. This method of purchase, being the first of its kind to our knowledge, shows Maine as an innovator in its quest to retain significant cultural and artistic State treasures. The sale showed strength in fresh to the market goods which consistently achieved much higher than expected results.
