*COLT 1911 PISTOL MANUFACTURED IN LATE 1919.

SN 625109. Cal. .45 Auto. Colt 1911 pistol manufactured in 1919, one of the last 1911 receivers made. Gothic “H” over firing pin stop plate, thin front sight, small notched rear sight. Left slide marking has “February 19, 1911” last patent date, all slide markings are Roman font including “Model of 1911 US Army”. Slide was manufactured pre-1913. All small parts checkered rather than serrated. Bbl bushing (refinished) has contour of WWII part. Acceptance mark is Springfield eagle over “S5”. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Slide and receiver both refinished (Parkerized) with no sign of arsenal markings. Stocks are plastic Keyes Fibre with reinforcing ribs. Replacement High Standard (HS) bbl is blued with frosted bore but decent lands and grooves. Bbl link is staked on both sides. Refinished surface of slide shows moderate edge wear and scuff marks. All parts including small parts appear to be refinished (Parkerized). Mag is Risdon WWII welded base construction with minor pitting on the left side and erosion of finish on base plate. SN 52623. Cal. 45 ACP. Standard 5″ bbl. Blue finish overall with early 2-line patent and address with rampant Colt on rear of left side. Right side marked “Model of 1911 U.S. Army” with narrow tapered front sight and early rounded rear sight. Traditional markings of “U.S. Property” on left front of frame and SN on right side above trigger. Inspected “WGP” in circle for Walter G. Penfield. 2-pc diamond pattern checkered grips with short hammer and appropriate trigger, mainspring housing and grip safety. Correct early Colt bbl and bushing. PROVENANCE: Gerard Ruth Collection, ex Alex Chauffe SR. CONDITION: Good as totally refinished. Markings are strong and legible. Right side of slide is marked “Colt Automatic Calibre 455”, top of slide British proofed with Crown/BW, left side of slide has standard Colt patent markings and Rampant Colt, rear left slide shows crossed scepters British marking, receiver marked “R.A.F.” and crossed scepters in front of slide stop, over crossed scepters with broad arrow property mark, upper left trigger guard bow marked with “VP”, lower left trigger guard bow marked with “98” above Crown/G2A over mag catch release. Right side of receiver marked “Government Model” over “W106521” over Crown/BV over “Made in U.S.A.”, to the left of slide stop hole marked “Not English Make”, upper right trigger guard bow marked Crown/A1E. Front sight is thin flat sided Colt-type, rear sight is standard small u notched. Bbl marking “W” in front of lug, left lug marked “H20”, visible through ejection port are three normal British proof marks. Mag is standard two-toned US G.I. pinned base with upper tongue marked “B” (for Barnes). PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Entire pistol is refinished with war-time blue. Mainspring housing loop has added iron ring apparently for lanyard. The majority of the reapplied finish remains with only high edges and front of muzzle showing white metal. Bbl shows moderate wear to outer surfaces, bore is good with mostly bright finish only minor frosting between the lands. The double diamond stock left is very good, stock right shows moderate wear, screws in very good condition but missing most of the finish. SN W107274. Cal. .455. 5″ bbl. Colt 1911 type government model in ORIGINAL .455 caliber pistol with RAF marking. Receiver right marked “Government Model” over SN behind slide stock pin. Left receiver marked “R.A.F.” and broad arrow marked over crossed scepters in front of slide stop pin. Crown over “G2” over “A” mark over mag catch. Slide marked with crossed scepters left rear. Bbl is “W” marked in front of lug. Bbl hood has rebated groove to allow for semi-rimmed .455 cartridge. Right slide marked “COLT AUTOMATIC CALIBRE 455”. Slide left marked with Colt standard patent dates, Rampant Colt in middle Colt’s standard address on right. Front sight is thin, flat rounded. Rear sight is flat top with round notch. Flat over firing pin stop plate unmarked. Long milled smooth trigger, long wide checkered hammer, checkered thumb safety and slide stop, short tang grip safety and flat main spring housing with bent lanyard loop. Flat on top of receiver marked “E” with “4” to the right. Stocks are checkered double diamond type. (Mag marked “CAL .455” over “ELEY” with broad arrow property mark on base plate). Bbl is polished and no marks visible through ejection port. CONDITION: Mag catch and mag catch lock is very good plus but probably a replacement as mag does not insert without depressing mag release. Stocks are good plus condition. Right stock has moderate damage from screwdriver. Left stock is very good. Stock screws show orig finish with minor buggering of slots. Mag is two-tone with some surface erosion on all surfaces. Corners are sound. Lanyard loop is slightly loose. Bbl bore is frosted but lands and grooves are still sharp. Considerable erosion of external blued surface. External surface has considerable erosion on front grip strap and mainspring housing. All surfaces contain minor dings and dents as is typical with British pistols. Slide shows approx 85% orig bright blue finish with a lot of surface dings and scratches. Receiver shows approx 75% bright blue orig finish with most of the wear on the grip straps. Overall a much better than average looking Government Model in ORIGINAL .455 Cal Webley. Right side upper trigger guard bow marked with “Verified Proof”. Lower left trigger guard bow marked “Y”. Right slide marked “Colt Automatic/Calibre .455 (Second 5 is spaced slightly further away). Left hand side shows standard Colt 1913 patent dates followed by Colt’s standard address with Rampant Colt to rear and crown over “V” proof. Receiver marked crown over “V” below thumb safety. Bbl marked crown over “V” and crown over “P” visible through ejection port. Bbl marked “5” in front of lug and “W” on left lug. Bbl hood has abated groove under hood for semi-rimless .455 Webley cartridge. Slide front sight is thin, round, flat. Rear sight has “U” notch. No marks above firing pin stop plate. Slide bottom rail marked “E”. Slide rear sight registration mark lines up with mark on slide. Receiver marked “J.J.” above upper trigger guard bow. Mag is Colt two-tone commercial lanyard loop type. Mag bottom marked “CAL .455” over “ELEY”. CONDITION: Bbl lands and grooves show significant pitting. Front grip strap has large ding. Moderate takedown scratch. Small dings below slide stop. Slide has moderate salt and pepper corrosion underneath the Parkerised (phosphate) finish. All parts except mag and mag catch assembly are refinished with British applied phosphate finish. Mainspring housing under lanyard loop shows multiple scratches apparently from use of lanyard. Most of the Parkerised refinish remains on all parts with the exception of bbl lug and locking lugs. Left stock in very good+ condition, with wear only at the bottom. Right stock shows considerable wear and flattening of diamonds along with buggering of wood from a screwdriver. Mag has severe crack in rear right corner. Mag catch assembly has orig type finish but may be a replacement part. 1) COLT 1903 HAMMERLESS. SN 293494. Cal. 32ACP. Pistol engraved on all surfaces with flower pattern. Right slide marked “Colt Automatic Calibre 32 Rimless Smokeless”. Left slide marking “Colt Standard Patent”. Rampant Colt on rear of slide. Colt “VP” legible. Upper trigger guard bow marked “R”. Short, smooth trigger. Slide stop checkered. Mainspring housing plain. Magazine marked “Cal .380 Colt”. Mag release serrated. Accompanied by a Colt Factory letter listing this gun as being shipped to Murta, Appleton & Co. Philadelphia. 5 Guns in shipment. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Finish moderately eroded on front and rear grip straps. Colt plastic stocks with Rampant Colt and brass inserts around screws good. Slight pitting on bottom of magazine. Slight pitting on bottom of butt. Bore lands and grooves eroded but still visible. C&R 2) COLT 1903 OFFICERS MODEL. SN 571146. Cal. .32 ACP. 3-3/4″ bbl, gray Parkerized finish, 2-pc checkered walnut grips with Colt medallions. Fourth type with mag disconnect safety. Slide shows 2-line Colt address and patent mark on left side with Rampant Colt logo to the rear. Right side of slide shows 2-line Colt cal designation under ejector port. Frame is marked “U.S. Property” above trigger guard on right side. Left side of frame shows SN stamped above trigger guard. 2-pc checkered walnut grips with nickel Colt medallions. Mag base is stamped “Cal. 32 Colt”. Box is made of Kraft paper and is unmarked. Instruction leaflet is correct for this model as is the cleaning rod. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Slide retains 90% of the gray/green Parkerized finish with clear markings. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Frame also retains 90%+ of the dull gray/green Parkerized finish with clear markings. 2-pc grips are fine with sharp checkering and only a couple of small bruises on the right grip. Mag shows nearly all of the dull blue finish. Box is fine with no breaks or oil stains, instruction sheet is also fine with no oil stains. *COLT MODEL 1908 POCKET PISTOL ENGRAVED IN ELVIS PRESLEY PATTERN.

SN 324998. Cal. 25 ACP. Blue finish with 2-1/8″ bbl, fixed sights with color case hardened grip safety, thumb safety & trigger. Mounted with Rampant Colt hard rubber grips. Slide is engraved with about full coverage, very well executed foliate arabesque patterns with pearled background. Both ends of the slide on both sides are inlaid with fine gold wire patterns similar to a Walther PPK from the same engraver. Bottom front of the slide is engraved “MAINS”. Bill Mains was a Master Engraver for Colt Firearms in the late 20th Century and was one of Colt’s most prolific engravers. When he first began engraving for Colt, he was told not to sign his work so he developed a small buffalo logo to represent his signature which is frequently found on both factory work and outside contract work with the occasional full signature instead as found here. Pistol is housed in a black leatherette case with a green velvet lining. Top of case is embossed “Colt 1908 Elvis Pattern” over “Colt Master Engraver” over “Bill Mains”. PROVENANCE: The Brad Shepard Collection. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Overall retains virtually all of it’s orig blue on the frame & case colors on the 2 safeties & trigger. 1) COLT 1908 POCKET. SN 400686. Cal. .25 ACP. Colt model 1908 Pocket pistol, 2″ bbl, full blue finish,. Case colored trigger, saftey latch and grip safety. 2-pc checkered walnut grips with Colt medallions. Slide shows 2-line Colt address and patent mark on left side with Rampant Colt logo at the rear. Right side of slide shows Colt 2-line cal designation. SN is stamped on frame over trigger, last three numbers of SN appear on inside of slide at the rear. Mag is marked “Cal. 25 Colt”. CONDITION: Fine. Slide shows 95% bright blue finish with only slight handling marks overall and some very slight muzzle wear. All markings are sharp. Bore is frosty with visible rifling. Frame shows 98% blue finish with only a couple minor blemishes. Case colored parts retain nearly all of their finish. Grips are fine with sharp checkering and no apparent dents. Mag shows 50% blue. C&R 2) BROWNING BABY 25. SN 431589. Cal. .25 ACP. Browning Arms Co. “Baby” semi-automatic pistol. 2″ bbl, full blue finish, 2-pc checkered plastic grips with Browning logo in an oval. Left side of slide reads “Browning Arms Company” over “Made in Belgium”. SN is stamped on left side of frame above trigger over “S”. Breech of bbl shows Belgian proof marks with “Cal. 6mm 35”. Belgian proofs are also present on the trigger guard bow on right side. Belgian proofs are stamped on the face of the slide. Mag shows “FN” logo in an oval on the base. Included is a Browning leatherette pouch. CONDITION: Fine. Slide retains 98% blue finish with sharp markings and only the slightest handling marks. Frame also retains 98% blue finish, again with the slightest handling marks. Bore is bright with sharp rifling. Grips are very good, left grip is missing a chip at the heel. 3) BROWING . SN 389837. Cal. .25 ACP. 2″ bbl, nickel slide with matte finish frame, 2-pc faux pearl grips. Left side of slide is marked Browning Arms Company/Made in Belgium. SN is stamped on left side of frame above trigger “S” is stamped after SN. Belgian proofs appear at the breech of the bbl, on forward left bow of trigger guard, and on the front face of the slide. Mag has “FN” logo in an oval. Trigger is gold plated. Accompanied by a black leatherette Browning pouch. CONDITION: Very fine. Slide retains 99%+ of the nickel finish with crisp markings. Bore is bright with strong rifling. All markings are sharp and clear. Grips are fine and intact. Trigger retains nearly all of the gold finish. Fitted with clip-on wide notch front and rear sight appliances that appear to be easily removed. Probable replacement stock screws and stocks. Left side of receiver has “United States Property” and acceptance mark of Gilbert H. Stewart above the mag catch release. Dbl diamond checkered stocks show slight wear and moderate flattening of diamond points. Front sight thin, rounded, flat. Rear sight rounded notch. Widespread checkered hammer. Short tang grip safety. Flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Checkered thumb safety and slide stock. Orig bbl with “P, H” vertical. Bore bright and shiny with only faint frosting at chamber end. CONDITION: Stock screws are pristine as is the wood around stock screws. Mag catch and lock are pristine. Receiver grip strap mostly frosted. Mainspring housing partially frosted. Dustcover is slightly frosted. Remainder of frame excellent. Small pit under slide stop. Slight thinning of slide on muzzle. Bbl shows moderate wear through ejection port. Only minor peening of slide stop notch. Moderate ding left slide after Colt address. Several dings on top of slide. SN C10969. Cal. 45. Colt 1911-type Government Model with Canadian provenance. Right side receiver marked “GOVERNMENT MODEL” over serial number behind slide stop pin. Left side upper trigger guard bow marked “VP”. Lower left trigger guard bow marked “Y”. Right slide marked “COLT AUTOMATIC” over “CALIBRE 45”. Left slide marked with Colt standard 1913 patent dates and Colt’s standard Hartford address with Rampant Colt at rear of slide. Left stock has Canadian emblem engraved with “35” in a circle around a cannon, apparently artillery. There are no observable property marks. Mag floorplate has partial broad arrow “C” marking. Mag is standard Colt made two-tone type IV. Front sight is rounded, thin tapered. Rear sight is rounded with U-notch. Portion of bbl visible through ejection port is marked with a partial “P” up front. Hammer is short, checkered wide spur. Thumb safety and slide stop checkered. Holster is a Mills 1914 dated 45 caliber webb holster. Rear of holster marked with pistol SN, under flap of holster is hand done Canadian broad arrow property mark, flap of holster “F.R.N.”. CONDITION: Mag is in overall excellent condition with most of the original finish remaining with only a small scuff on the tongue. Overall gun has a highly presentable factory polish finish. Right upper edge of slide has considerable pitting due to poor storage. Left side of slide has only minor erosion on the muzzle and a couple of very minor dings. Right receiver shows considerable erosion of the front grip strap and partial erosion of the mainspring housing. Left side of receiver shows speckled erosion from fingers; orig owner was probably left handed as the left side shows most of the erosion. Mag catch lock shows some buggering but mag inserts properly. Holster has field repair on belt loop with black leather. Forward and rear top edge shows minor fraying. Right trigger guard bow upper has assembler mark “51”. Front sight is thin, rounded flat type. Rear sight is flat with round notch. Hammer is long, wide spur checkered. Grip safety is long tang. Mainspring housing is arched and checkered. Thumb safety and slide stop are checkered. Trigger is short, milled and checkered. Stocks are full checkered walnut. Pistol is accompanied by an unnumbered maroon tattered box with broken top. Box contains bristle brush and instruction sheet. CONDITION: Slide as numerous micro-scratches, only visible up close. Receiver shows almost no wear except at butt corner. One or two micro-dings on dust cover. Receiver shows 99% orig finish. Slide shows muzzle wear and various micro-scratches. Slide shows 97% orig finish. Grip screws are blued and show minor wear at the apex. Screws slots are all pristine. Mag is commercial type two-toned with most of orig polished finish remaining. Small amount of pinprick pitting on upper quadrant. Base plate is pristine. Mag catch assembly is pristine. Bright shiny bore. *COLT MODEL 1911-A1 ACE MODEL PISTOL WITH ORIGINAL BOX.

SN 4156. Cal. 22LR. 5″ bbl. Blue finish. Checkered walnut grips. Target sights. 2-tone magazine marked Colt ACE 22LR. Box contains instruction flyer and test target numbered to this pistol. Box has SN written in pencil on bottom, also showing price of $75, and the name Emil McConnell written in pencil. Also written on box is “YRVO”, “HY” in a circle, and “Y” in a circle, followed by an illegible word. Box has proper end label for this model. CONDITION: Very fine. Pistol retains 95%+ of the bright blue finish with some wear at the muzzle on the sharper points. Forestrap shows only a few scratches through the blue. Grip safety shows nearly all of the original blue finish. All markings are sharp. Hammer shows bright blue on the top and rear surface. Two-toned magazine retains nearly all of the blue with only some slight scratching. Grips are very fine with sharp checkering and no apparent dents. Bore is bright with sharp rifling. Box is very good with only slight wear on the edges of the lid. Paperwork is clean. An opportunity to obtain a very fine example of a Pre-War Colt ACE Pistol in far above average condition with a 4 digit SN made in the second year of production, 1932. 51724-5 TEP (4,500-5,000) C&R – Lot 3037

All parts appear to be orig and properly marked but bbl lacks typical “K” marking in front of lug but marked with a “5” in front of lug. Bbl has “HP” having common leg visible through ejection port. Receiver feed ramp fully blued. Receiver right side marked “United States Property” over SN behind slide stop pin with #20 assembler’s mark on upper right trigger guard bow. Final finish marks show no change in direction under stocks as is correct for transition pistols. Coarse fully checkered walnut stocks. Fully blued stock screws. Checkered mainspring housing. Long tang grip safety. Checkered wide spur hammer. Checkered thumb safety and slide stock. Upper left trigger guard properly lacks verified proof. Checkered milled short trigger. Upper receiver flat shows “H” in front of disconnector hole and “G” to rear. Front sight is narrow rounded with “flattened” top. Rear sight has round notch. Right hand slide marked “Model of 1911. U.S. ARMY”. Serifed “H” on flat over firing pin stop plate. Unnumbered under firing pin stop plate. CONDITION: Minor scratches on right receiver. Wear on front grip strap, possibly due to rack storage. Typical edge and corner wear from holster. Slide shows numerous scratches and dings on most surfaces with moderate wear to slide holdback notch. Bbl shows considerable wear on front portion of bbl. Bore grooves eroded and slightly pitted. Bore appears dirty. Overall, slide has 85% orig finish with a multitude of minor dings and scratches. Receiver shows 95% orig finish with a few dings. Mag is Colt type IV two-toned blued with no lanyard loop and no marking on base plate. Some surface erosion on sides apparent. Base plate very good+.
