ARAB FLINTLOCK PISTOL. NSN. Cal. .65, 13-1/8″ ribbed bbl. Long Arab inscription on top of the bbl. Unidentified cartouche at the rear of the bbl, also with Arab letters. Brass inlays on triggerguard, sideplate and butt cap. CONDITION: Lightly rusted overall with moderate to heavy pitting on the bbl. Wood has many chips plus repairs and plastic wood fills. ARAB FLINTLOCK PISTOL NSN. Cal .68, 14-3-16″ part-oct bbl. Wood stock is carved in floral designs and has brass and silver inlays. Brass furniture is cast in Saladin designs. Three niello diamonds are on a silver plaque on the wrist. CONDITION: Grey brown patina overall. Stock is very good. Slight loss of wire inlay at the wrist. Lock needs work. 4-47392 FS322 (300-400)

EVANS M1827 CONVERSION PISTOL. NSN. Cal. .58, 8-5/8″ round bbl. Converted by the Belgian method. Repercussion. CONDITION: Good markings remain on the lock mixed with moderate pitting. Stock has been broken, repaired and heavily sanded. Bore is heavily pitted. Trigger has been shortened. 1″ chip has been replaced in the ram rod channel and all surfaces have been covered with varnish. Bell hook is an old replacement. FS771 4-47527 (500-1,000)

LARGE PERCUSSION UNDER HAMMER PISTOL. NSN. Cal. 42, 10-3/8″ oct. bbl. Two front sights, one at the muzzle and the other is a globe site missing the top. Lollipop rear sight is missing. Nipple is too short for the hammer to reach. CONDITION: Rust-brown patina overall with surface rust active towards the muzzle. Stock has had the initial “D” painted on the right side but this is mostly flaked away. 4-47298 FS663 (400-600)

BELGIAN “BELT” PISTOL. NSN. Cal. .48, 4-13/16″ oct. bbl. The belt hook has been added through the engraving on the left side of the pistol. Thumb piece is missing. CONDITION: Moderate to heavy pitting on the iron part except the replaced nipple. The German silver frame and rib are very good. Grip is broken at the top and chipped around the cap box with heavy wear and dirt in the checkering. 4-46233 (250-450)

ASSEMBLED FLINTLOCK “KENTUCKY” PISTOL. NSN. Cal. 44, 5-1/4″ round bbl. Marked “ARMSTRONG/PHILADELPHIA” on the lockplate. The number 960 stamped on both sides of the stock indicates that it came from the U.S. Cartridge Company collection, but this has not been checked. Made without trigger plate or triggerguard. Touch hole and the bbl do not line up with the flash pan on the lock. CONDITION: Gray patina with light surface rust and moderate to heavy pitting on the rear of the bbl. Lock is fine. Stock has a crack running forward from the lock screw, has sharp edges and shows little wear. 4-47304 FS648 (300-500)

KENDALL UNDER HAMMER PISTOL. SN 216. Cal. .45. 5″ part oct. bbl. Marked “N. KENDALL/WINDSOR VT” on top of the bbl and ‘SMITH’S /IMPROVED/PATENT/STUD/LOCK” on the bbl tang. The crudely bent upper tang with welded repair indicates that this might have been made from a rifle but the bbl has the proper turning at the muzzle and center for a pistol bbl. CONDITION: Gray patina with light pitting over all. Tip of the trigger is broken off. Stock has a repaired crack at the wrist and numerous dents and scratches but retains 75% of the original varnish. PERCUSSION HALF STOCK PISTOL. NSN. Cal. 40. 7-7/8″ half oct. bbl. Marked “A. W. SPIES” on the engraved lock. Hammer is a replacement. Bbl tang has been extended to the rear with an inset piece of wood simulating a saw handle pistol. Triggerguard is unusually shaped; not completely finished and is probably a replacement. CONDITION: 50% original brown finish on the bbl with wrench marks and dents at the rear and light surface rust overall. Stock has a large sliver replaced from the lock to the forearm tip and has been refinished in that area. Ramrod is a replacement. Lock is functional. 4-47283 FS645 (250-500)

WATERS MODEL 1836 FLINTLOCK PISTOL. NSN. Cal. .56, 8-7/16″ round bbl. Dated 1840 on the lockplate. CONDITION: Moderate to heavy pitting overall. The markings have been cleaned off the bbl but are still faintly visible on the revarnished wood. The rammer assembly has been replaced with a reproduction, the top jaw, screw and hammer screw are missing. Stock is broken at the rear lock screw and has cracks around the lock and on the butt. Hammer on one has been replaced. Bbl key on the other has been replaced. CONDITION: Gray patina with light to moderate pitting. CONDITION: Rust-brown patina overall with areas of very heavy pitting. Lockplate is a replacement with wood overlay on the stock to allow the proper fit. SOUTHERN KENTUCKY FLINTLOCK RIFLE. NSN. Cal. 40, 41-5/8″ oct. bbl. Iron mounts including a nailed iron sheet repair at the wrist. Ramrod is a replacement. 3/4″ grease hole has been drilled in the right side of the stock. CONDITION: Rust-brown patina overall with heavy pitting and live rust in the area of the reconversion. New colonial style lock was made to fit this rifle. 4-47259 FS712 (600-1,200)

UNMARKED PERCUSSION FULL STOCK RIFLE. NSN. Cal. 46, 37-1/2″ oct. bbl. Thin stock with plain 4-pc patchbox fastened to the stock with brass breads. The patchbox release is hidden under the toeplate. The only mark on the gun is “MOORE” on the lockplate, which is a replacement on this gun. There is a 3/16″ gap between the front of the lockplate and the old recess. CONDITION: Dark patina with live rust over all, should clean much better. Stock has been cleaned and has short cracks at the rear lock screw. Front lock screw hole has been plugged, as the current lock does not have a hole for it. 4-47218 FS679 (800-1,000)

CHURCHILL PERCUSSION UNDER HAMMER RIFLE. NSN. Cal. 45, 24″ oct. Remington bbl marked ‘O CHURCHILL ALBANY” behind the rear sight. Otis Churchill worked in Albany from 1839 to 1860. Unusual side opening square patchbox on the right side of the tiger maple stock. CONDITION: Gray patina with live rust and many dents. Front ramrod pipe is a recent replacement. There are no springs in the action. Stock is held to the tang with two large stove bolts. 4-47234 FS673 (200-400)

CLEMENT UNDER HAMMER RIFLE. NSN. Cal. 50, 31-1/2″ round bbl, marked “T. CLEMENT/GREENFIELD/MASS.” on the left side of the breech. Simple 2-pc German silver patchbox installed with three screws. Ramrod is a replacement. All ramrod pipes have been replaced and the center one is loose again. There are two notches filed across the lower tang near the trigger, but their purpose is not known. CONDITION: Gray patina over all with scattered spots of surface rust and pitting. Rear sight is also a replacement. Stock has been cracked at the mounting screws, repaired and refinished. CONDITION: Smooth brown patina on the iron, brass has been cleaned and is beginning to tone. The bottom inch of the buttplate is broken off and missing. NEW ENGLAND PERCUSSION HALF STOCK BUCK AND BALL RIFLE. NSN. Cal. 20ga. 43-3/4″; 1/2 oct. bbl – does not fit the breech well. Horse head patchbox typical of those found on Massachusetts rifles. Lock has been converted from flintlock and the hammer may be a replacement. CONDITION: Rust-brown patina on all iron parts. Stock has several repairs on the forearm with some chips on the forearms and nosepiece. Several cracks in the wrist area and some of the wire inlay is missing. The spout is graduated in three steps from 1/2 to 3/4 dram. Spout is 1-1/4″ long and the flask is 7″ overall length. CONDITION: Fine. Brass retains a fine mellow patina with some original polish in sheltered areas. Spring is original with traces of original blue. Body retains traces of original polish with the balance a fine mellow patina. One side has two soft dents and a couple of other small ones. ASSEMBLED FRENCH FLINTLOCK MUSKET. NSN. Cal. .72, 43-7/8″ round bbl. Ramrod is for a shorter gun, rear bbl band has been modified with a plugged hole on the lip and is attached to the stock with a four penny flat-head nail. The middle band is lap brazed to fit the spliced stock. Front band has a large notch in the bottom but no way to attach it to the stock. Bayonet has the number 4666 on it and does not quite fit. Lock is marked “S Etienne”. There are no marks on the bbl. There is an iron sling swivel on the triggerguard but none on the front of the gun. CONDITION: Rust-brown patina overall, the hammer is attached using a lead washer. NON-REGULATION PRESENTATION GRADE STAFF & FIELD OFFICER’S SWORD AND SCABBARD. Of the type and style made by a number of Solingen, German manufacturers. This sword has a 31″ straight single edged blade with etched panels on either face depicting an American eagle and motto and “U.S.” Hilt has a fancy three branch knuckle guard with foliated termini and openwork. Counter guard is cast with an American shield and laurel leaf decoration. Pommel is cast with decorative elements as well. Grip is of leather covered wood with straight wire wrap. Scabbard is of steel with small cast brass mounts having an American shield and war trophies. CONDITION: Good, the blade is a medium to dark gray, etching is visible but not sharp. Hilt is dark and uncleaned, wire is loose on the grip. Scabbard has aged a dark brown with light surface rust. LOT OF FOUR SWORDS. 1) 26-3/4″ single fuller blade with blue etched designs. Oct. horn grip with brass guard, center and pommel. Scabbard with brass drag and collar. CONDITION: Blade has been ground for 3″ from the hilt. There appears to have been a repair in this area. Strong traces of the blue are visible from this point to the mid-point of the blade. Hilt has several cracks and some insect damage. Brass mountings have a dark, mottled patina. Scabbard has been bent in several places but is still intact with some loss of surface. 2) Knights of Columbus sword belonging to “MAURICE LEE MANN”. Made by “THE/HENDERSON/AMES CO./KALAMAZOO/MICH.” CONDITION: Generally bright blade with light pitting around the hilt. Black hilt has some scratches on the bottom and much corrosion to the German silver cross. 3) 28″ single Fuller blade only with faint engraved markings. CONDITION: Moderate to heavy pitting overall. 4) German NCO sword, Kaiser Wilhelm eagle on folding guard. CONDITION: Poor. Mounted in an iron scabbard, which is too large and is missing the tip and is slightly bent. The throat of the scabbard is marked with the Canadian issue mark plus a crown over “E/7”. These markings also appear on the back of the 21-1/2″ blade along with others. Semi-deluxe rifle with 26″ oct. bbl, full magazine, half-nickel front sight with semi-buckhorn rear sight and locking Lyman tang sight. Wood is straight grain walnut with pistol grip stock and nickeled Swiss buttplate. SN 163140. CONDITION: Good to very good. Bbl retains 40-50% plum-blue., Magazine tube 85-90% strong blue. Receiver has traces of blue in the sheltered areas with the balance a silver-gray patina. Forearm has a large groove carved right at the carry point where one’s thumb would rest while carrying, with a small corresponding filed area on the left flat. Pistol grip is missing the cap and the stock has a crack back of the top tang. Otherwise, the wood has been sanded a long time ago removing all the checkering. ETHAN ALLEN PATENT BREECH DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 10ga. Unusual shotgun with 30″ damascus bbls marked on the top rib “FINE STUB TWIST” with the makers name, address and patent numbers on the side swinging breech block. Bores have been fitted with long, aluminum insert tubes that appear to adapt for shooting either 16 or 20ga ammunition; no indication of how to extract the empties from the tube. Forearm is original with gutta percha tip secured with a single wedge. Buttstock is a replacement with checkered straight grip and smooth steel buttplate. SN 108. CONDITION: Bbls and receiver have been blued. Forearm is dark and oil stained, shows much wear and is missing some small splinters on the edge of the bbl channel. SOUTHGATE HOMEMADE HEAVY BENCH RIFLE. Cal. 54. Massive homemade bench rifle with 44″ round bbl, 1-3/8″ at the muzzle. Lock is unmarked and convertible from flintlock to percussion or visa versa. It has dbl set triggers and a sight extension as part of the breech plug tang. There is a target sight base at the muzzle. It is all mounted in a massive flat bottomed, 1-pc walnut stock, 58-1/2″ overall length. Buttstock is built on modern lines with a deep pistol grip, Monte Carlo comb with cheek-piece and an old Jostam pad. CONDITION: Fine. AMERICAN ARMS PATENT ACTION DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12ga. Very unusual early shotgun with 30″ damascus bbls, choked FULL/FULL, wide decorative matted rib with the makers name and “BOSTON” marked near the breech end, with modestly figured walnut wood, checkered splinter forearm and semi-pistol grip stock with original American Arms Co., Bluffton, AL hard rubber buttplate with an eagle in a center oval. The action resembles a box lock type with external cocking, internal hammers. The right sideplate is stamped with the makers name and patent dates “1882” and “1883”. The action can be opened and closed with the use of the top lever without the hammers being cocked. in order to fire, one must depress the knurled levers for each hammer. SN 786. CONDITION: Good to very good. Bbls have been reblued and retain traces of pattern through the blue. Receiver and lockplates retain 50-60% case colors, bright in the sheltered areas. CASED SPRINGFIELD HARPOON GUN. SN. 11636. Cal. 45, 14-3/8″ bbl. A label from Abercrombe & Fitch is pasted inside the lid of the canvas-lined case describing how to use the harpoon gun. Also in the case are two boxes of Remington UMC blank cartridges; one of which has a purple overstamp “40 GRS /HARPOON GUN”. There is also a jointed cleaning rod and nine 12-1/2″ hickory dowels with leather washers on one end. Three solid brass harpoon heads with fitted slot for front sight also accompany the gun along with a military contract box of Western Cartridge Company blanks for line-throwing gun. It has very nicely figured wood with fine checkered black tipped schnable splinter forearm. IMPORTANT WAR ORDER OF THE GERMAN CROSS IN SILVER. This medal has a solid silver back with a patinated copper inner layer and a top solid silver wreath and Swastika. Swastika is inlaid with black enamel and the wreath is surrounded by red enamel. This is engraved on the back “K. Breith/2.11.44”. Panzertruppen General Breith was awarded the “Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub und Schwertern” on this date. Clasp has the number “21” stamped on it. Copies of documents accompany showing Breith’s service. Inscription “3/29/66 /RTI” has been scratched into the left side. Firing pin is protruding from the face of the breech and the gun will not open. 2) H&R Bicycle Revolver. SN 142814. Cal. .32S&W, 2″ ribbed bbl, with leather purse, probably for European revolver. CONDITION: 80% dull nickel. Grips are fine, action needs parts. Holster is worn and flaked. 4-47193 FS481 (100-200)
