RARE BLACK McLOUGHIN BROS. DIORAMA. Late 19th Century, as was typical of the time period the black people were portrayed within the various scenes in a comical nature with exaggerated features. One of the scenes portrays a black gentleman seated in a chair playing a banjo while his friend frolics about. Another scene depicts a dapper black gentleman tipping his hat to a young lady. FISHER PRICE MICKEY MOUSE BAND. Circa 1934, this is the first Disney toy Fisher Price produced. Mickey and Pluto are mounted upon a wheeled wooden base with a stick push rod. When pushed along the floor, Mickey strikes the drum and cymbal (on Pluto’s tail) in an alternating manner. Marked on the side of the drum “MICKEY MOUSE BAND” & “FISHER PRICE TOYS # 530.” The base is of painted blue wood with yellow wheels, and the figures have brightly colored paper litho applied to their wood frames. Toy came directly from the original owner in a rural house in Pennsylvania and has never been cleaned or altered in any manner. SIZE: 12” l. BUCK ROGERS DISINTEGRATOR GUN WITH HOLSTER. Rarely is this model found with the holster. The gun retains its original gold paint and still works. PROFESSOR PUG FROG’S MECHANICAL BANK. Manufactured by J&E Stevens Co. This appealing bank depicts a frog on a high-wheel bicycle. When a coin is placed in Professor Pug Frog’s mouth and the lever activated, the bicycle spins in a counterclockwise circle depositing the coin, spinning to hit the book that mother goose is reading, and then returning to its initial position. This particular version is enameled in a multitude of colors but the base primarily being yellow and red. SIZE: 11”. CONDITION: Overall condition is very good. LARGE HUBLEY BANDWAGON. A breathtaking toy with marvelous provenance. This piece was on display at the Hubley offices in New York City. After the closure of the Hubley factory, the owner had it on display in his house in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Drawn by four white horses with plumes, the driver parades down the street with eight musicians seated behind him. A classic toy manufactured by Hubley, this piece can stand alone on one’s mantle! ROYAL CIRCUS “FARMER’S VAN”. Highly desirable circus toy that when pulled along the floor, the rear wheels engage a geared mechanism causing the farmers head to pop out of the center of the van. Enameled in bright colors and trimmed in gold. The toy is complete and in original paint. An oddity is that this toy has two different wheels on the horses’ hoofs. This piece was on display at the Hubley offices in New York City. After the closure of the Hubley factory, the owner had it on display in his house in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. SIZE: 16”. LADY PULLING EXPRESS WAGON. Of French manufacture, possibly by R. F., this slightly larger version is of a finely enameled lady pulling her “goods’ wagon. A string is wound around the pulley and when pulled, this causes the flywheel to spin and the toy to move forward. According to one of the nation’s foremost authorities on automotive cast iron toys, Dick Ford, this toy is one of two known to exist and this being the only all original example! Purchased several years ago from an antique dealer in Illinois, this toy came fresh to the market and was purported to have been owned by a former employee of the Vindex Toy Co. The side panels are embossed “RAPID DELIVERY”. It retains its original Vindex decal on the driver`s door, dual side mounted spare tires, and a rear flip-up door. Cast aside any thoughts of this toy being a variation of the Arcade White Panel Truck. It is truly a Vindex. The truck being enameled in forest green, trimmed in gold and silver, nickel-plated wheels and “WHITE” embossed on the front grille. The toy is in “as found” condition never having been cleaned, polished or even dusted off!! Car #10 is powered, has a dark green/olive color, dark patina over car, couple dents in roof, pedestal headlight on roof with flat bulb, embossed on bottom Lionel Manufacturing Company N.Y. One air tank rod is loose and motor will have to be rewired. Short hook crinkle coupler on each end. Above window is printed New York Central Lines, very faint on both sides. Car #10 and interurban show up very nicely, also has knurled knob on one end used to wire run lighting into the trailer car. The underbody to Car #10 is olive green. Some window celluloid’s are loose, some surface wear, maroon gold-stepped. The paint is dull but most of it is there, car looks very nice. Trucks have some surface rust on them but will clean up. Some alligatoring along edge of roof and minor chips. Trailer car is a lighter dark olive with lots of chips and scratches on frame, roof edges and on roof, not same condition as powered car. RARE ORIGINAL ANTIQUE BARBER OR DENTAL CHAIR. This mid-19th Century innovation is made of walnut and retains its original black horsehair upholstery. From the Eastlake period, it probably dates to around 1870. It is adjustable, and has an adjustable metal mechanism on the side that allows the chair to recline, and once in the fully reclined position, a hidden footrest will swing out. The frame is solid walnut with carved scrolled embellishments on the side. SIZE: Approx. 48″ to the top of the back, and approx. 25″ w. CONDITION: Horsehair upholstery on the front in generally very good condition with a couple small breaks on the end. The upholstery on the very back has pulled away in a few places as has the original webbing on the underside. the wood is structurally good and in the original old finish. 1-3204 (800-1,200)

RARE PORCELAIN KOKEN SALESMAN SAMPLE BARBER CHAIR. This leather, nickel and porcelain salesman sample for a Koken barber chair is one of the most desirable of all salesman samples. These samples were made in wonderful detail and include ornate nickeled footrest with raised relief filigree and marked “Koken Companies St. Louis.” The mechanism is set up with a hydraulic pump in the pedestal as the full-sized one would be and when filled with oil and working properly can be operated with the handle on the side. SIZE: 14 1/2” h., depth on edge of footrest is approximately 13” d., width from one arm to the other is approximately 8”. CONDITION: This example is in generally good condition. The nickel is lightly worn on the footrests. The leather appears to be all original in great condition as is the porcelain which is free of chips and cracks.
