Late 18th century, Newburyport, Massachusetts. The serpentine crest rail above the canted over-upholstered back joined to half serpentine arms continuing to out-scrolled hand holds raised on concave shaped and scrolled supports with string inlay joined to inlaid square tapering legs and raked rear legs all joined by a recessed box stretcher. The whole covered in a pale green damask. SIZE: 46″ h x 25-1/4″ l x approximately 25″ w. Seat h: 14-1/2″.
